TIPS AND THINGS TO KNOW
ASK
Are socks allowed when swimming?
Socks are not allowed when swimming, but culottes are.
ASK
Is a neoprene mandatory?
The question of whether to wear neoprene or not can only be answered on the day of the competition.
Basically, neoprene is only compulsory when the water is below 14 degrees.
A neoprene ban only when the water exceeds a certain value.
From experience over the last few years, neoprene was always allowed but not mandatory.
The competition judge decides whether a wetsuit is allowed 1 hour before the start.
TIP
Neopren
If the water is below 20 degrees it makes sense to swim with a neoprene suit.
However, if you don't have your own wetsuit, you should borrow it a few days beforehand.
Swimming with a wetsuit is a little different, so it's good if you've already practiced it beforehand.
Taking off your clothes should also be practiced.
We would be happy to advise you if you would like to borrow a wetsuit from us.
ASK
Do I need a start number band?
Yes, you need a start number band. Because when cycling you have to wear the start number at the back and when running you have to turn the start number to the front.
You can purchase start number wristbands from us at the start number distribution point.
ASK
Where does the Pentek chip go?
Without a Pentek chip there is no timekeeping.
Either you own a chip yourself or you will be given one when you collect your starting number.
The chip must be attached to the ankle using a chip band.
The chip must be worn while swimming.
If you don't have a chip band you can purchase one from us.
TIP
To swim
If this is your first time starting with us, keep swimming to the left.
This way, if the crowds get too big while swimming, you always have the option of swimming out of the core zone.
Make sure that you get into a good rhythm at the beginning and don't swim too quickly.
The race is not won by swimming :-)
ASK
Do I need a racing bike?
No, you can also start with a mountain bike or trekking bike.
It is important that it has a functioning front brake and rear brake.
Luggage rack and mudguard are also permitted.
ASK
Can I walk barefoot?
Yes you can!
We would just like to point out that the running route also includes gravel sections.
ASK
Can I change after swimming?
Yes you can!
ASK
Are there time limits?
No, we don't have any time limits. We wait for every participant. So you can take as long as you want to complete your distance.
The important thing is that you have fun.
ASK
Can I swim for a relay as an individual?
Yes, it is possible. You will then have two chips on your legs when you swim. After swimming, you must first run to your relay cyclist and hand him the chip. Then you can run to your changeover point.
TIP
Cycling shoe on the bike.
Many athletes put their cycling shoes on the bike to save time.
Only if you are really practiced and have practiced it often in training should you do it in the race.
If you haven't trained, falls are inevitable, but above all you endanger other participants.
